For our art project we decided to make our own rock song. Our thinking skill was contextualization which is the who, what, when, and where. In order to make our song, we researched many different rock songs from the 80s and a little from the 70s. We were influenced by band such as Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Nirvana. With the information we researched we made our own style of rock.
For our history project we made newspapers about our "band". Our thinking skill was contextualization so we research a lot about the culture of rock n roll and more about specific bands. We had found interviews with artists in Rolling Stones magazines, so we made a Q and A section in our newspapers. The newspapers also talk about how our band got together, the type of music we play, and behind the scenes stuff.
For our English project we made lyrics for our song and annotated them. To start, we did research on lyric writing and also annotating lyrics. We then annotated 6 popular rock songs by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, and Ozzy Osbourne. After annotated these popular rock songs we then made our own. Our lyrics were named "12 Years" which represents our years in school. In the lyrics we talk about the ups and downs of school. We then annotated our lyrics and that was our project.
